Students of Government Titumir College have held a ‘Death of Education’ program demanding the conversion of Government Titumir College, a historic institution in the capital, into a university. Today, Sunday (November 10) at noon, the students organized a ‘Death of Education’
procession. The procession started from Shaheed Mamun Square, passed through the canteen, and ended in front of the main gate of the college.
During this, the students highlighted the rationale for converting Titumir College into a university. And they said that this demand is their demand for a day, not a long 27 years. They said that they are being discriminated against, they take exams on the DU syllabus and their question papers are evaluated by DU teachers.
There is a lot of inequality in the results. The students are failing in large numbers. In addition, the students highlighted the suffering of Titumir College and seven colleges and demanded that Titumir College be immediately canceled and made an independent and autonomous university.

The students have drawn the attention of the concerned ministry on the issue and have submitted a memorandum to them, but that too has not yielded the desired results. The protesting students said that there is no alternative to converting Titumir into a university to improve the quality of education. The current education system is no longer viable, so we are observing the Death of Education program
At the same time, we are drawing the attention of the authorities, we have been peacefully protesting for a long time so that no public suffering is caused. But if they do not accept our demands, we will be forced to hold a large-scale program.
The protesting students presented three demands:
1. Titumir College should be separated from 7 colleges by canceling its affiliation with Dhaka University.
2. A commission should be formed to transform Titumir College into a university.
3. Titumir should formulate an outline for implementing an independent university.
